Russian National Congress of Cardiology
Russian National Congress of Cardiology was taking place in St. Petersburg from 25 to 27 September 2013. Speakers from 34 countries participated in the Congress; more than 5,000 physicians attended the Congress events.
“The Congress was held under the slogan ‘Cardiology – from science to practice’. During the plenary and breakout sessions attended by the leading Russian and foreign experts the following matters were discussed: the issues of improving the organization of cardiac care, new advances of fundamental medicine and new medical technologies for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases based on implementation of those, modern aspects of surgery and interventional therapy of cardiovascular diseases, challenges of prevention of cardiovascular diseases and rehabilitation of patients, development prospects of transplantology and regenerative medicine.” – summed up the President of the Russian Society of Cardiology RAMS, Academician Evgeniy V. Shlyakhto.

Lancet took part in the exhibition of modern technology, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. The Russian Society of Cardiology is an all-Russian public organization that consolidates and develops professional cooperation between the cardiologists and doctors of related specialties, with a membership of more than 4,500 doctors.
